Writer and botanist Jim Malusa will discuss his book, Into Thick Air: Biking to the Bellybutton of Six Continents, at the Govans Branch of the Enoch Pratt Library (http://www.prattlibrary.org/calendar/) on Thursday, May 22 at 6:30. We will be there to sell copies of this great book that tells all about how, with plenty of sunscreen and a cold beer swaddled in his sleeping bag, Malusa bicycled alone to the lowest point on each continent, a six-year series of "anti-expeditions." He describes his journeys to Lake Eyre in Australia, to the Jordanian shore of the Dead Sea, to Salina Grande in Argentine Patagonia, and other strange landscapes.
