"The best Hollywood movie of all time" (Leonard Maltin) won three Academy Awards (Best Picture, Best Direction, Best Screenplay) when it was released in 1943 and was nominated for five more. Hungarian resistance leader Victor Laszlo (Paul Henreid) finds himself trapped in a Casablanca crawling with Nazis. His only chance of escape requires the help of cynical nightclub owner Rick Blaine (Humphrey Bogart), who sticks his neck out for no one, least of all Victor's wife Ilsa (Ingrid Bergman), the ex-lover who broke his heart. Claude Rains, Peter Lorre, Sydney Greenstreet, Conrad Veidt, and Dooley Wilson comprise one of the greatest supporting casts ever assembled.
