"My dog sends me texts. Yeah. It's weird." Like most of us, British animator and humorist October Jones wondered what it would be like if his dog could talk. So he tried the next best thing, and taught him how to text—a choice that Jones has been pondering the wisdom of ever since. This ridiculously hilarious book simply presents screen images of their texted conversations, as found on Jones's wildly popular blog TextFromDog.tumblr.com. For example:
Dog: "When we meet people, don't say 'This is my dog'." Jones: "WTF should I say?" D: "You say NOTHING ... I'll say 'This is my butler'." J: "Right. What should I call you?" D: "MASTER WOOFINGTON VON BARKSHIRE."
Though there are a few cartoon illustrations, they're hardly needed, as the sentence fragments, vivid insults, and random exclamations—"Dude, I'm BATDOG"—are all too easy to mentally picture playing out.
