Her name is synonymous with evocative, even iconic images of Americans struggling to work and live in America, and this catalog proves her reputation is well earned. Dorothea Lange's photographs document the plight of hundreds of thousands of people who migrated westward in search of work, food, and a place to live during the Great Depression. Lange also worked for the War Relocation Authority, photographing Japanese-Americans interned in camps during World War II. She did projects for Life magazine and traveled with her economist husband Paul Taylor to Ireland, Asia, Egypt, and various developing countries. This album reviews her body of work in unprecedented scope, through essays and 260 black and white photographs, many of which appear by themselves on the page.
