Based on the Mel Brooks/Buck Henry '60s spy spoof series, Steve Carrell is in CONTROL as Maxwell Smart, the novice agent often out of his depth—but never out of options—in this 2008 comedy pitting him against the nuclear scheme of the evil KAOS. Academy Award nominees Anne Hathaway and Terence Stamp co-star as Max's cohort Agent 99 and his nemesis Siegfried, while Oscar winner Alan Arkin offers backup as the Chief, in this trek through the dangerous realm of molar radios, multifunction pocketknives, and exploding dental floss. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson also co-stars as Agent 23, Bill Murray is featured in a cameo as Agent 13, and James Caan plays the part of an unnamed bumbling president. Longtime fans will enjoy the many affectionate nods to the original series. Disc one of this two-disc set offers the option to play the movie straight through or to watch it in "Comedy Optimization Mode" with more than 20 additional minutes of alternative jokes. Disc two is full of documentaries and special features, including Spy Confidential—otherwise known as the gag reel.
