The Aftermath

In 1918, on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, a cease-fire was instituted across the western front in Europe, ending the principal fighting of World War I. The world seemed silent for a moment, before the advent of radio and the jazz age set it thumping once again. But the seeds had already been sown for a tumultuous century, from radical social and economic changes to the political unrest of a world unhappy with how things were left after the war had ended.
