Every culture handles life differently, and there is of course a reason to stuff a ferret in your pants. From the "blackening of the bride" in Scotland and the custom of not looking babies in the eyes in Kenya, to enlisting geese as part of the police squad in China and the Peruvians' preference for frog juice, there are so many unique behaviors all across the world. Hardly any of these things are strange in their respective cultures, but you will indeed be astonished—and occasionally, appalled—at this collection of ways that mankind approaches nourishment, entertainment, and rites of passage.
