Our friends through thick and thin, animals have even followed us into combat, rendering valuable assistance by using traits that humans do not possess. Highlighting such instances of interspecies cooperation, these 4¾ × 6½ inch postcards feature rarely seen black and white photos from the vast collection of Britain's Imperial War Museum. Among these 30 images are a sailor carrying a mule on his shoulders, a soldier on the Western Front shaking hands with a kitten, and a bulldog with a hat—looking a bit like Winston Churchill—leaning from the porthole of a ship.
