Ranging in tone from hilarious to terrifying, these three films are established classics of the horror genre. House on Haunted Hill (1958) stars Vincent Price as an eccentric millionaire who will pay each of his guests $10,000 if they can survive one full night in a house inhabited by ghosts. Ed Wood's 1955 camp masterpiece Bride of the Monster stars Bela Lugosi as a scientist attempting to create a mutant race; Lugosi's battle with a conspicuously fake octopus is considered a gem of unintentionally funny horror. And, low budget but easily one of the scariest films of all time, the late George Romero's Night of the Living Dead (1968) remains the benchmark for all subsequent zombie flicks.
