A boy is feeling sad and anxious after moving to a new town, so his mom suggests that he take a walk to get to know his street, in this book for readers 4 to 8 by the author of The Phantom Tollbooth and The Odious Ogre. Feeling inspired, the boy begins to shout, "Neville," and he has soon piqued the curiosity of every kid in the neighborhood, all of whom join him in calling the name in chorus. As the locals ask more and more questions about the apparently very important Neville, the boy himself starts to become part of the group. G. Brian Karas skillfully blends colors and textures in his mixed-media illustrations, not to mention finding many ways to decorate the name "Neville" in the text.
