Penguin preschoolers Bob and Flo have lots of fun playing together in these board books. Rebecca Ashdown provides plenty of opportunity for prereaders to chime in as the story unfolds, and her delightful crayon and watercolor cartoons offer visual textures and details to spot.

A lunch bucket is lost and a new friend is found in this first tale in the series. Flo wears a new bow and brings a red lunch bucket to her first day at preschool. "I like your bucket," says a penguin named Bob, and not long after, Flo finds her lunch on the floor and her bucket missing. But Bob seems to have a new red hat, and later a handy stepstool, and then a red drum—and Flo realizes maybe Bob knows a lot of ways to have fun.
