Three siblings create three books of their own using blank paper that they bind together (in descending sizes to match birth order). In this book for readers 4 to 8, Seymour observes the world around him, but then creates a story about a peculiar, hungry creature; Fiona uses poetry to document her life; and the youngest, Wilbur, draws what he loves—his family, and dinosaurs. Upon completion of their works, the siblings put one book inside the other, creating a new book to be read and shared by all. Channeling his inner child, Barney Saltzberg varies his writing and drawing style to create individual personalities for the kids.
"Charming childlike illustrations appear to be created with pen and ink, watercolors, and crayon and are simple and appealing.... Creative children will be inspired to put their own thoughts and pictures down on paper."—Booklist
