It seems we all are attracted to certain colors, so Eric Carle (who happens to like yellow) invited 14 fellow illustrators to have some fun with their favorites, for readers up to 8 and all fans of children's book illustration. For William Low, brown reminds him of the buildings in his Bronx neighborhood, while Lauren Castillo's love for white inspires an impressionistic winter landscape. Philip C. Stead draws a charming green elephant, Melissa Sweet depicts "Maine morning gray" in a gull and a bay, and Uri Shulevitz, unable to pick just one color, paints a prismatic city. Bryan Collier, Mike Curato, Etienne Delessert, Anna Dewdney, Rafael Lopez, Marc Martin, Jill McElmurry, Yuyi Morales, and Frann Preston-Gannon also contribute colors, and each artist has a short profile with a childhood snapshot.
