After six months in the backward, isolated town of Aosta, Rocco Schiavone is settling in, even though his days are all the same and his fellow cops are none too bright. When a maid reports a burglary, Schiavone arrives to find that the lady of the house has committed suicide, but his intuition tells him something is awry. In his second case (after Black Run) Schiavone follows the trail of foul play; somewhere along the way, he needs to remember to get his girlfriend a birthday present, keep tabs on a serial rapist, and buy himself yet another pair of boots.
