It has been well over 60 years since Patsy and Richard Scarry published this adorable look at babyhood and the promise of the future, for prereaders (and nostalgic adults). In his characteristically graceful paintings, Scarry evokes America at midcentury, showing the respectable rabbit parents, the baby's big sister, and Great Aunt Bunny, all daydreaming about how their baby bunny could grow up to be a policeman, a circus clown, a candy store owner, a cowboy, or an artist. No matter what he decides to do, though, the little fellow wants to grow up to be a daddy bunny.
