Working as receptionist for her uncle's private investigative firm, Lyla Moody contentedly lives in the little town of Sweet Mountain, Georgia. Things take a sinister turn, however, when Carol—a fellow member of the true crime-obsessed Jane Doe Club—is found dead and shoved into a suitcase, left at Lyla's front door. When the police discover the suitcase belongs to Lyla's best friend Melanie, she is sure they're on the wrong track and begins to seek out the real killer. Soon though, the murderer has Lyla in his sights, and in this series debut, they begin a tense game of cat and mouse.
