Introduced in 1950 with the publication of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, C.S. Lewis's Narnia Chronicles have been devoured by fantasy fans 8 to 12 and lovingly revisited by older readers ever since. The Last Battle—the final book in the series—was awarded the Carnegie Medal in 1956. All seven books in this British boxed set feature dramatic cover illustrations by fantasy artist Julek Heller, while inside they retain their original maps and ink drawings by Kate Greenaway Medalist Pauline Baynes. The chronicles have been sequenced not as they were originally published, but rather in the order in which Lewis felt they should be read.
