Unearthed after nearly 40 years, this dazzling concept book for prereaders follows the transformations of triangles, squares, circles, lines, and colors as they spring to life and ask, "What can I be?" A green triangle asks to become a tent, a kite, a Christmas tree, or the sail of a boat, while the square tries on being a kitty door, a window, and a jack-in-the-box. Few indeed are the books produced by two architects, but this gem by Ann Rand (1918-2007) and Norwegian artist Ingrid Fiksdahl King is just such a creation, and its typography and design are indeed top-notch.
