Started at the Royal Institution in 1825 by Michael Faraday, the Christmas Lectures have been broadcast on television since the 1960s and have formed part of the British Christmas tradition for generations. Drawing on the incredible archive at the RI and spanning more than 150 years, this collection of 13 presentations includes Carl Sagan's "The Planets," Monica Grady's "Voyage in Space and Time," Malcolm Longair's "Origins," James Dewar's 1885 "The Story of a Meteorite," and from 1944, Harold Spencer Jones's "Astronomy in Our Daily Life."
