In January 1972, a peaceful civil rights march in Northern Ireland ended in bloodshed, as British troops opened fire on marchers, leaving 13 dead and 15 wounded. Within hours, the British military declared that they had won an "IRA gun battle," but a 2010 inquiry found that the majority of the victims were shot in the back as they ran away. Juliann Campbell's uncle was the first to be killed on "Bloody Sunday," which inspired her to create this piercing collection of interviews with survivors, relatives, eyewitnesses, and politicians.
