The camera is some 60 years older than the airplane, but they came of age together, and accordingly the history of aviation has been captured on film. In the more than 100 photographs collected here, the Wright Brothers test their glider at Kitty Hawk, barnstormers dare to walk on the wings, Robert Goddard experiments with the world's first liquid-fuel rocket, and the Enola Gay returns from dropping the first atomic bomb. Here too are rarely seen images of Amelia Earhart, Charles Lindbergh, and stunt flyer Betty Skelton.
