Inspired by the pleasure of spending a day any way one likes in New York City, Andy Ausland penned these dozen tunes, all of which have a pleasingly laid-back feel. Taking his cue from Oscar Peterson and 1950s jazz, pianist Tanner Taylor invests each song with individual character, balancing the melodies with just the right amount of flash; he is accompanied by bass and drums throughout, with just a touch of brass. The selections include "Manhattan Love," "The Day Is Done," "Out on the Town," "Cool Tuesday," "She's the One," "Raindrops," "Sidewalk Stroll," "Daydreamin'," and "Central Park in Spring."
