This gala evening of dance duets was presented at the Los Angeles International Ballet Festival in 1984. The cosmopolitan program includes a Tchaikovsky pas de deux with Patricia McBride and Reid Olson; an excerpt from Les Sylphides with Ghislaine Thesmar and Michal Denard of the Paris Opera Ballet; Flower Festival at Genzano with Linda Hindberg and Arne Villumsen (by Danish choreographer August Bournonville); the Bolshoi-born Don Quixote pas de deux choreographed by Marius Petipa to the music of Ludwig Minkus and danced by Yoko Morishita and Tetsutaro Shimizu (Matsuyama Ballet of Tokyo); excerpts from Le Corsaire by Adolphe Adam with Marielena Mencia and Yanis Pikieris; The Bluebird pas de deux danced by Nadezda Zybine and Luis Astorga; and the grand pas de deux from Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty with Ellen Bauer and Damian Woetzel.
