Description
Although celebrated for his large, brightly painted abstract pieces, British sculptor Anthony Caro also produced drawings and small-scale works of a more private nature throughout his career. The full range of his oeuvre includes works on paper, sculptures and models constructed in paper and cardboard, and abstract works of steel, bronze, and clay, more than 60 of which appear in this exhibit catalogue. These are drawn almost entirely from Caro's studio and family collections, and the book examines the critical responses that his work has elicited since the 1950s, while Caro himself discusses his exhibition and installation practices here.

"The artist who famously brought sculpture off the pedestal here appears fresh again ... [with] arresting images of rarely seen work."Publishers Weekly
