(BBC Music Magazine Record of the Month for December 2015) Russian-born Alina Ibragimova's previous performances of J.S. Bach's music were praised as "spellbinding" by the Guardian, and this recording further enhances this young virtuoso's baroque credentials. Along with the violin concertos in A Minor (BWV 1041) and E Major (BWV 1042), Ibragimova performs violin transcriptions of the harpsichord concertos BWV 1052, 1055, and 1056. Led by Jonathan Cohen, the ECHO Klassik–winning British ensemble Arcangelo provides historically informed accompaniment on these very satisfying performances.
"I can't claim to have heard all the available versions ... but this is without question one of the best of the many recordings of this work that I do know."—Musicweb International
