David Mamet's precocious daughter Clara Mamet directs and stars in this 2014 indie comedy as chain-smoking 17-year-old Maude, who has been suspended from school and dumped by her boyfriend in the same week. Stumbling to a crossroads in her young life, Maude gets no help; her detached father (William H. Macy) spends all of his time reading, her mother (Clara's real-life mom Rebecca Pidgeon) is equally self-absorbed, and her late grandmother has stipulated in her will that Maude will inherit a fortune if she will only go to college—the last thing that this aspiring young novelist wants to do.
"Mamet utilizes both sight gags and cerebral humor like a seasoned sketch comedy writer."—Huffington Post
