In 1880s Canada, young Susannah Sheldon (Shirley Temple) is the only survivor of an Indian attack on her wagon train, in this 1939 drama. Mounties Angus "Monty" Montague (Randolph Scott) and Pat O'Hannegan (J. Farrell MacDonald) rescue and adopt the waif, whose schoolgirl crush on Monty will pit her against the sophisticated lady who has turned Monty's head, Vicky Standing (Margaret Lockwood). Susannah also meets Little Chief (Martin Good Rider) and learns the ways of the natives, forging a friendship that may help her save Monty's life. The film is presented in a colorized version and in its original black and white.
