Editor Ronald Bosco provides a substantial introduction and arranges the writings under the headings Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter, and Spring Again. This brief collection of writings, sponsored by the Thoreau Society and published by the University of Massachusetts Press, is illustrated with Barry Moser's superb engravings.
