|Il Terzo Suono. Massimiliano Raschietti, organ|
|Pages/Publication Date:||53 / 2012|
A prolific composer of operas and liturgical works, Giuseppe Giordani (175198) was the director of the musical chapel of the Chiesa Metropolitana in Fermo, where he composed Lamentazioni and Miserere for use in the Tenebrae portion of the Holy Week service. Their late 18th-century composition date notwithstanding, these pieces have a decidedly baroque pathos, and the organ provides the sole instrumentation. The accompanying booklet includes the lyrics in English translation, which as per custom are partially based upon the Lamentations of Jeremiah the Prophet.
