Lady Dunbridge, aka Philomena Amesbury, is bored. It's 1908 and her days on Coney Island are nowhere near as exciting as her days spent solving mysteries. Then, Phil hosts a party for an Austrian psychologist whose revolutionary research has put his life in danger. During the party, one of the eclectic guests is shot dead. Finally, a new mystery for Phil to solve. The prime suspect is a man she's fond of, and so she and her butler and maid get to work.
