In ancient China, people used wood panels to write on; today we are still writing on wood—and the more paper we use, the more trees must be cut down. That's the thoughtful logic behind the sticky notes in this set, printed and die-cut to look like slices from a tree, with an axe-shaped ball point pen. Based on a design by Mu-Jian that was a finalist in Kikkerland's 2014 China Design Challenge, the set both celebrates a tradition and encourages us to be mindful of our impact in the world. The pen, with black ink, measures about 3¾ inches long with its axe-blade cap in place, while the 30-page sticky-note pad is about 3¼ inches in diameter.
