A college dropout playing in punk bands in 1990s New York, Dana Brown was unexpectedly hired to be the assistant to Vanity Fair editor Graydon Carter. Against all odds, he rose up the ranks to eventually become the magazine's deputy editor, a trusted confidante and witness to all of the biggest parties, blowups, and takedowns.
