As a young girl growing up in 1930s Vienna in the 1930s, Orly has an idyllic childhood filled with music. But in 1938, the Germans arrive, and soon Orly and her family flee to La Paz in the Bolivian Andes. Even as the number of Jewish refugees grows, they are haunted by the music that can no longer be their livelihood. After the war, Orly must decide if the love and adventure she has found in La Paz are what defines home, or is the pull of her family and friends in Europe too strong to ignore?
