Editor Jo Glanville solicited essays from eight prominent Jewish writers and thinkers to explore the history and politics of antisemitism. American rabbi Jill Jacobs and Israeli historian Tom Segev both explore antisemitism in politics. British journalist Daniel Trilling investigates antisemitism and far-right extremism, while author Philip Spencer discusses antisemitism on the left. Polish writer Mikolaj Grynberg reflects on a childhood lived in the shadow of the Holocaust; journalist Natasha Lehrer and novelist Olga Grjasnowa explore antisemitism in France and Germany. Glanville herself searches for the roots of this dangerous hatred.
