Inspired by the imaginative spatial designs of artist M.C. Escher, photographer Art Wolfe traveled the globe in search of similar patterns in nature. The resulting images captures both the beauty and the poignancy of animals on the move. Among the many highlights, a flock of snow geese head south, monarch butterflies bejewel a forest of trees, and a colony of Indian bats snuggle in tight hibernation. Emphasizing both conservation and celebration, Wolfe also shares views from Kenya, Japan, Trinidad, the Canadian Arctic, and the Ozarks.
