What if Raymond Chandler's detective, Philip Marlowe, worked in present-day Los Angeles? The creator of the IQ series, Joe Ide imagines a modern Marlowe who accepts two missing person cases, the first a daughter of a faded, tyrannical Hollywood starlet, and the second, a British child stolen away by his father. As he reluctantly works on these investigations, Marlowe must also mend his troubled and confounding relationship with his father, an LAPD homicide detective who's given in to drink after the death of Marlowe's mother.
