Born in Baltimore, MD in 1862, attorney William Walker Atkinson succumbed to mental and physical exhaustion in midlife, abandoning his career. Joining the New Thought movement, he mined the wisdom of the East, taking the name Yogi Ramacharaka for the many books he penned. The Yogi believed that the human mind has remarkable untapped abilities, and this anthology shows how he explored the idea in such books as The Science of Breath, Raja Yoga or Mental Development, and The Science of Psychic Healing.
