Even as Joni Mitchell's 1971 album Blue topped charts around the world, she crafted a very personal holiday gift for her closest friends, creating and printing one hundred copies of Morning Glory on the Vine. This exquisite artist's book (indeed, Mitchell sought a career as a painter before she became famous for her music) gathered a selection of her poems and lyrics like "Woodstock," "A Case of You," and "You Turn Me On, I'm a Radio," illustrated with more than 30 ink and watercolor drawings. This facsimile edition reproduces Mitchell's handwritten pages, set with landscapes, still lifes, abstractions, and portraits of friends like James Taylor, Neil Young, Judy Collins, Graham Nash, and Georgia O'Keeffe.
