From the outset of Edward Weston's 50-year career, he had a distinct style and an eye for unconventional yet always striking compositions. Presenting Weston's earliest work from a recently discovered family album alongside images from his early prime, the stunning 125 duotone photographs here reveal him to be a nature photographer on par with Ansel Adams, capturing the beauty of coastal California and Death Valley. Here too are a variety of nudes photographed outdoors, as well as sensual still life scenes, modernist experiments, and portraits of Gary Cooper, Igor Stravinsky, and E.E. Cummings.
