An animator for The Simpsons and the creator of the Rory the Dinosaur books, Liz Climo is also one of our favorite cartoonists. Her online series The Little World of Liz Climo depicts a charmingly quirky animal kingdom, in which grizzly bears, porcupines, rabbits, and anteaters all handle their everyday problems with wit and understated humor, and even the sharks and crocodiles are friendly.

In this, her first collection, Liz Climo gathers some of her favorite animal cartoons from her much-loved web comic. They may have animal problems—like a deer shedding an antler right before a date, a horse trying to impress a unicorn with a fake horn, or an elephant trying to use his meerkat friend's tiny headphones—yet we humans have been there too. As Climo notes in her introduction, the characters grew from simply being funny animals to become individuals that reflected the personalities of the people in her life.
