One of Canada's revered Group of Seven artists, James Edward Hervey MacDonald regularly explored Ontario's back country on painting expeditions. The four subjects in this assortment of twenty notecards feature close-up, almost abstract imagery of leaves and branches, taken from decorative panels that MacDonald created for the vacation cottage of art patron J.M. MacCallum in 1916.
