On holiday in Mykonos, aspiring actress Charlie wants only sunny days and a brief escape from her dreary bourgeois life. A handsome stranger lures the young Englishwoman away from her vacation and her friends, though his intentions are far from romantic; Joseph is an Israeli intelligence officer, and wants her to flush out a Palestinian terrorist responsible for a string of deadly bombings. For Charlie, it is the role of a lifetime, but she finds out too late that her loyalties are divided, and many lives are put on the line. The source of the 1984 film starring Diane Keaton, John le Carré's novel was also adapted as a 2018 BBC miniseries with Florence Pugh and Alexander Skarsgard.
