In the final months of World War II, San Francisco newspaper secretary Ellie Morgan should be planning her wedding, but is instead trying to uncover any scrap of evidence that her missing pilot father is still alive. When she discovers a stack of love letters from a woman who is not her mother in his possessions, she vows to find out the truth about her father. Ellie's search will lead her to her Aunt Iris, a former Ziegfeld Follies showgirl back in the 1920s, a woman with a past who may be complicit in a murder.
