Each day, Hilda tells her monkeys Tim, Sam, and Lulu to be good while she goes out to do her errands. And each day, Hilda returns home to find a bigger mess than the day before. These monkeys will likely never behave! But when Hilda thinks her simian friends have gone away, she realizes that having a tidy house isn't the highest good. Longtime Roald Dahl collaborator Quentin Blake penned this tale for readers 4 to 8, while Emma Chichester Clark created mixed media images that contrast the comic monkeys with a prim and proper Parisian setting.
