When Mr. Whistler wakes up one morning, his Great Aunt Lydia calls and invites him to visit. The dandyish fellow is so preoccupied with dancing that it takes him a long time to get dressed, but he finally makes it to the train station, in this tale for readers 4 to 8 by the Hans Christian Andersen Awardwinning author of Maddigan's Fantasia and Bubble Trouble. Then Whistler thinks he has lost his ticket in one of his pockets, so he dances right out of his clothes to look for it, greatly amusing the crowd. Gavin Bishop's jaunty watercolors feature lots of patterns and textures, and much of the book's décor hearkens back to the Jazz Age.
