Opening to more than 37 inches long, this accordion-folded book follows youngsters Maisie and Max as they travel back in time, visiting 14 different eras in London's history over the past two millennia. Each panel depicts a particular period—from Roman Londinium in 50 AD through medieval, Tudor, Georgian, and Victorian London, then through the Edwardian era, wartime, the swinging 60s, and finally back to the 21st century. Nick Maland's ink and watercolor drawings have the look of fine engravings, and readers 6 to 9 are encouraged to spy significant details (and find Max and Maisie) within each of the panels. The book includes a slim, illustrated slipcase for storage.
