Bad Boy, Good Boy

So, is Sam the dog a bad boy, or a good boy? It seems he's always up to something, whether running through the yard (and Grandma's flower garden—oops!), helping Grandpa in the kitchen (and making a huge mess—splat!), or winning a school contest (though not exactly the way the teacher planned—hee hee!).
