From the simple theme of a book of colors for prereaders, Sophie Pelham has created an interactive art piece that even older children will delight in. Each color is presented as a two-page spread, boldly colored in its entirety, with a circular flap in the corner and a prompt to interact with what's found underneath, from counting red circles to totaling up shades of green, or tracing a wavy violet line. Readers are advised at the beginning to leave the flaps open as they go, resulting in a vivid rainbow display that begs to be stood up on a shelf or table.
