Traditional Japanese origami designs are given a new twist in the bold graphics and pop art colors of these preprinted folding models, from beautiful goldfish and butterflies to kites with crazy faces and roughneck characters, and good luck totems like the dharma man and a pair of emperor and empress dolls. Designed by Tokyo origami group Studio Cochae, this innovative activity book introduces a new kind of origami, using simple folding patterns and colorful printed papers to create decorative paper models and toys. Each design includes an introduction and step-by-step instructions, as well as large tear-out folding papers (nearly 8 inches square) in three different color combinations (for a total of 60 printed papers). Here too are four folding backgrounds for staging your creations.
